Update: It took a little longer than intended, but we're back online! As a thank-you for your patience, we've given all users the ability to explore their daily roll locations for a second time today and tomorrow, until it resets back to normal around ~11:45 AM CST.

Sometime on March 27^th after 9:00 PM CST, the Safira Island website will be updating its PHP version. PHP, for those who are curious, is the programming language that allows for the site to communicate with its database and have dynamic content. This update means that the site will experience some brief downtime.

This should hopefully be for only a short period of time, but the updating process is new to us, so we cannot give a definite answer to how long the updates will take. If the site will be down longer than 10 minutes, we will be announcing the site's status and update progress on the Safira Island Discord Server.

With this update's completion, if you have any issues with the site (slow load times, daily rolls don't refresh, 500 or 404 errors, etc.), please submit a bug report or email AnimatedCritter@gmail.com.

A small set of updates was pushed to the site. This includes:

• Adding forums to the homepage sidebar (and adjusting the style ever-so-slightly).
• Allowing users to ping/mention one-another by typing "@username" in comments and forum posts.
• The "Message User" button no longer displays on users' own profiles.
• The "Message User" button now auto-fills the recipient field of the form.
• The Sales page has been divided up into four categories: open, closed/pre-claimed, Shelter, and user-hosted trades.

A few more minor visual updates are planned for the coming week, including a change to hyperlink colors to make them more visible and reformating of the Sales pages themselves, but feel free to leave some more suggestions!

This maintenance has now been concluded! Details about the new updates will be included in an upcoming news post.

A new event is releasing soon, which includes the addition of some new features. The site will be down for these updates sometime around 4:45 AM CST. Should all go well, this period of downtime should be brief, and the site should be back up no later than 5:00 AM CST.

TL;DR: there are some clarity/balance issues with the prompt bonus/submission system, which will be addressed Sunday night. Regardless, prompts may still be submitted!

First off, thank you all so much for contributing to the site! I'm  overjoyed to already have so many amazing people participating in the ARPG!

But with more submissions rolling into the admin queue, there are two very apparent issues in the structure of our prompt bonus/submission system.

The first issue being addressed is the imbalance between the effort of a submission vs. the Opals earned. We will be rebalancing Prompt Bonuses before Sunday night to address this. In the meantime, you're welcome to still submit prompts as usual during this two-day period.

All submissions created during this period will be compensated in full for what the new system would have granted them, plus a bonus gift for your patience!

Secondly, the structure of the prompt form's "Rewards" field. Default rewards and prompt bonuses feel disconnected in their build, and there are many points where users can become confused (especially if you are not closely following the Submitting Prompts Tutorial). We hope to address this during the Sunday night update.

Daily rolls are finally here! After three days of work (whew!) the new feature has been launced. A tutorial, more details, and more locations will be released at a later date, but for now, you can explore the Golden Hills location!

Visit the Game Center to roll todays' loot, but remeber to come back every day after 6:00 AM CST to roll again!

As per usual, if you encounter any bugs, please let us know via a bug report!

Another collection of small updates were added. This includes:

• Fixes for a handful of minor display issues
• Masterlist trade-listings now show the sale-type (via icon/symbol) and link to the purchase page.
  • User-hosted trades (of Safirans with their trade-listing enabled) link to the character's masterlist page.
• A confirmation modal now shows when clicking the "Submit" button on a surrender form
• A link to your User Settings is visible when you're viewing your own user profile
  • (See it under your username, right next to your user level.)
  • User Settings are still accessible via the navbar (Username->Settings)
• A few admin-side bug fixes. The 500 errors never cease ;w;

Some changes were just pushed to the website. Most of these modifications were to the backend of the code, so no visible changes should have occured (with the exception of a bug-fix so users are now able to properly use the level-up button)!

If you do encounter any errors, please submit a bug report, and we'll address it as soon as possible.

All users who submitted prompts from before the new submission system was implimented have recieved the amount of Opals they would have gotten with the new system!

If you believe your prompt was overlooked, please check the table linked above; if the missing prompt is there, but listed as "0" under the "Granted" column, it means the rewards you previously recieved were greater than or equal to the amount the new system would have granted.

In addition, all users who sumbitted prompts through the old system have also recieved a Party Favour box-item, which can be opened in your inventory for a few goodies!

Update 2: The maintenance is now complete! Thank you all so much for your patience!

With the update, we've overhauled our prompt bonus system to hopefully improve the user-expierence! No longer will you need to pull out your calculators and textbooks; instead, simply fill out a set of fields and the site will do all the math for you!

• Still confused? We've also updated the prompting tutorials to reflect the new system (although images and examples are yet to be added).
• If you encounter any bugs, do let us know via a bug report!

In addition to the prompt-form redesign, we've also updated our bonus-reward amounts to more fairly reward you for your hard work! And if you submitted a prompt using the old system, never fear! You can expect to recieve a mod-grant of Opals to compensate for the system updates sometime later in the day on January 2^nd.

Update 1: Prompt submissions are now closed!

Prompt submissions will be temporarily closing at 9:45 PM CST for maintenance. It's suggested that you refrain from submitting prompts last-minute. This is to avoid forms closing in the middle of your submission, although should this happen, you would simply need to re-fill and re-submit the form after maintenance is completed.

All other site activity may continue as normal during this time. Prompt submissions will reopen shortly after maintenance is completed!

It was brought to our attention that there was no mention in our Designing a Safiran tutorials that if a Safiran has a required trait, we request for it to be visible in the main Masterlist image. We have since added a notice to both our "Creating a Safiran" and "Creating an Aqualox" guides.

Along with it, we realized that there was no mention of Safira Island's take on copy-written characters/designs. We have since updated our Submission Guidelines on our Terms of Service to elaborate on this subject.

With this update, we offer a friendly reminder that you can update your Safiran's design at any time, without the need for any items. This means if you no longer like the square soul stone your aqualox has or it's many octopus tails, you can simply submit a design request!
