What is Safira Island?
Safira Island is an ARPG (art role-playing game) that is completely free to play if you so wish.
Safira Island itself is a planet located far out into the cosmos, inhabited by many species, although with a majority of the planet being comprised of water, aquatic dwellers are king. You can participate in the ARPG using any of Safira's playable species.
Our goal with the ARPG is to provide an improved space for closed-species fans, which includes more artistic freedom in design creation, a consistent flow of activities, and ease of group entry.
How do I join?
Anyone thirteen (13) or older is welcome to join the ARPG! To begin, create an account! This will hold all of your ARPG information, including the Safirans you own and the rewards you earn. If you already have an account, simply login instead. Please familiarize yourself with Safira Island's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before joining.
Remember that you may only have one (1) Safira Island account. To create a new account, contact AnimatedCritter to delete your previous one.
What should I do first?
You can begin wherever you'd like! But conventionally, you can start with obtaining a Safiran to call your very own. Alternatively, if you don't want to own a character quite yet, you can test out our prompts system. A great prompt for beginners is Generous Spirit, since you get an opportunity to see what Safirans are out there, in addition to potentially meeting some of the group's members. For whichever path you take, we have tutorials to walk you through it all.
What can I do with my Safiran?
The most prominent thing to do with a Safian is to go prompting with them. By completing prompts with a Safiran, that character's stats and levels will increase. You may also update your Safiran's profile and develop their character deeper. While you're there, it may be a good idea to update their gift-art permissions, so users know that you're interested in receiving gift art of them. All-in-all, owning a Safiran is your opportunity to have fun and enjoy a little bit of world-building, whether or not you decide to stick to the cannon Safira Island lore.
What are stats?
Stats are five different skills you Safiran can increase by progressing in the ARPG. The stats your Safiran starts off with are determined by their rarity. Free MYOs are of the "Abundant" rarity, meaning they only begin with the base stats. Meanwhile, official Safiran sales' rarities are "Natural" or above, meaning their stats are boosted. To what degree depends on their rarity. Aside from the starting stat boost, there is no difference between an Abundant Safiran and anything above: they can all participate in the same prompts, and their stats all max out at the same levels.
Stats can be leveled by spending stat points or using potions. You're free to maximize all of your Safiran's stats or keep some unleveled to match the character you've written for them. Stat points never expire and are always available to use after earning them.
