Description

This mouse carries their pups around in their pouch until they're old enough to confidently swim on their own. It's a dangerous, flooded world for such a tiny baby! When a Twin-Coat dives under the water, their pouch is able to create a watertight seal around the pups, so between that and the adult's double-coat, the pair remain completely dry during aquatic escapades.

Both male and female Twin-Coats have pouches, but it's usually the males that tend to the young. The males have manes and capes made from dense fur, which they can pluck to make cozy nests.
