Whatever these eels lack in colour, they make up for in personality. Yipping eels are very intelligent creatures, and are often used as a herding animal, although -- with their diverse temperaments, extreme intelligence, and verbal comprehension -- there is room to debate that Yipping Eels should be viewed as dominant species instead of a mere animal. In fact, some regions have banned the exchange of these eels entirely. Either way, Yipping Eels seem happy enough to lend a helping hand (or fin, in this case).

A Yipping Eel's diet consists of primarily snails and shellfish. They use their beaks to crush into the shell or simply slurp the unsuspecting prey from their shells. They'll occasionally munch on fish, but only when they're able to gather their entire pod together to herd together a school of fish. If one of their pod mates are incapacitated, whether from old age or injury, other Yipping Eels will always bring sizeable meals and glittering gifts back for them.
