User Settings

Visit your user settings (Your Username > Settings), and locate the "Birthday Publicity" section.

You can modify who can see your birthday and how much information is revealed. Users who have at least their month visible will receive a free birthday gift on the 1st of their birthday month! Please notice that, due to the nature of item logs, users with their birthday fully hidden will not receive birthday rewards.

Select your desired birthday visibility from the dropdown, and then click the "Edit" button.

Visit your user settings (Your Username > Settings), and locate the "Development Log Notifications" section.

You can select from the dropdown menu whether or not you'd like to be alerted of new dev logs through an alert in the website's navigation bar. Click "Edit" when you have selected your desired setting.

Dev logs provide minor updates on the site's status that may not require a full newspost. They can always be viewed on the dev logs page (News > (Sidebar) Dev Logs > All Logs), regardless of your notification preferences.

Visit your user settings (Your Username > Settings), and locate the "Last-Online Publicity" section.

All users' last-online status is set as visible by default. If you wish for to change your online status, simply select the desired visiblilty from the dropdown and click the "Edit" button when you're ready.

It is crucial that all users keep their email address up to date. Visit your user settings (Your Username > Settings), and locate the "Email Address" section if it needs to be updated.

Once you update your email by clicking on the "Edit" button, a new verification email will be sent to the updated address. If you do not receive the email within 15 minutes, and it is not located in your spam folder, please reach out to AnimatedCritter.

Visit your user settings (Your Username > Settings), and locate the "Change Password" section to update your account's password. We suggest that users update their passwords every few months, making sure to use a strong password.

After you click on the "Edit" button and receive the success message, you will now be able to sign in with your new password.

Tips for creating a strong password:

• Unique to passwords you've previously used.
• At least 12 characters or longer.
• Uses a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
• Easy for you to remember, but difficult for others to guess.

Tips for keeping a password secure:

• Don't share a password with anyone, regardless of your relation with them.
  • SafiraIsland.com will never contact you requesting you to share your login information! If you receive such a request, please delete the message and contact AnimatedCritter immediately.
• Never send a password through means that are not reliably secure (instant messaging, email, etc.)
• If you choose to write passwords down, keep them in a secure location that is not nearby the device your password protects.
• Change your password as soon as you suspect your account may have been comprimised.

Be cautious of scams attempting to obtain your information. Be wary of hyperlinks, verify the URL you are accessing is the official website, and never share your information in response to a phone call or message (even if it appears to be from the company in question).

Remember that you are responsible for your account's activity.
