Traits
Aquatic Tail
Aqualoxes can have any range of tails, although it's most common to see them with fishy fins, it's not unheard of to see a lox with tentacles or crawdad varieties.
Soul Gem
All aqualoxes have gemstones somewhere on their, otherwise known as soul gems. Soul gems, as the name implies, hold the lifeforce of an aqualox. Each aqualox is born with one soul gem and (almost) always only has that singular one. Although gems may look like they rest on the surface of an aqualox, they're actually emebeded deep into the lox's very bone.
Water Manes
Aqualoxes' most defining trait are their manes. All aqualoxes' manes are made up of water that the creature is able to control. Manes can be any length and any style, from braids to pompadores, although the "natural" style of a free-flowing mane has recently come back into fashion.
Stark
Stark are required markings that represent a Pokey Smoke's magic prowess. Stark can be found in one or all of the following locations:
- Tear Streaks / Malar Stripes
- Chest Lines
- Tail Rings
Cloak
A Pokey Smoke's quills are known as their cloak. Quills can be presented in any way, from that of a crested porcupine, to a northern porcupine, or hedgehog. When drawn, a cloak must have at least three triangular- or diamond-shaped strands on each side to be classified as quills.
Ring Tail
All Pokey Smokes have long, fluffy tails. They can be any length longer than a bobtail and are not required to have ring patterns unless the Pokey's stark is not present anywhere else.
Extra Fins
Extra fins are an optional trait that can present themselves anywhere on an aqualox's body.
