Moggie scurried across the shoreline, a satchel slung across her side heavy with seashells, wood, and other useless knick-knacks. She hummed a tune as she searched for more objects to collect.

Something crawled across her fur and came to a stop right above her horn. Taking a look into the water, she saw the reflection of Peskin, her balloon shrew.

"Are you gonna help me?" Moggie lifted up a paw to give Peskin a little pat. With a chirp, Peskin scurried back into her satchel. "Tsk. You're such a lazy-bones." Although she knew he couldn't understand her, it was a lot of fun to imagine he could.

The rocks littering the shore were exceptionally smooth, shaped by the waves that had crashed over them for thousands of years. Some glittered, some were perfectly round, and most were a normal, dull gray or brown. Moggie, however, was looking for a special sort of rock.

Moggie waded further and further into the water, picking up rock after rock and tossing them back into the ocean. Finally, she found what she was looking for. "Peskin!"

Peskin quickly ran out of the satchel and onto Moggie's head again, no doubt expecting some sort of snack.

"No, it's not food. Look!" Moggie lifted the rock up to him. He sniffed it, making a disappointed chirp. The rock looked just like all the others, but years of collecting rocks made her incredibly adept at telling a special one apart from the rest.

Dipping it into the water, Moggie ran to a large rock on the shore and rubbed the pebble on it, leaving a blue pigment. She drew a long snout, two blue pouches, and little ears. "It's you!"

Peskin stared at the picture for a moment and returned to the satchel, grumbling.

Moggie rolled her eyes with a smile and tossed the new pebble into her satchel with him.
