The Central Shores are the capital of the entire island. All types of Safirans gather in the hustle and bustle of the city located around, and inside of, the Great Unity Lake. This has created a massive bazaar that spans throughout the city, packed with those from all walks of life. It's preached to children to watch their bags as they tour the town, which may serve as the epicenter of sales, but also of theft.
In addition to the Central Shores' bazaar, you can also find the Temple of Aysu, the highest ranking cathedral in all of Safira. Only those with immense ties to the spirit-dimensions are able to find residence in the Temple, as it's said to be the thinnest barrier between the mortal- and spirit-dimensions (save for Aysu's Heart). It is considered the highest honor to be summoned to live at the Temple of Aysu, but this does not mean that the Temple is restricted to only the high-ranked clergy. Guests are more than welcome to visit the temple and observe the intricate architecture and discuss matters with the clergy, without any scrutiny for their religious beliefs.
The current head of the Temple is an aqualox by the name of Lake Tide. This social butterfly holds true to the principles that the world is ever-changing and Safirans are not to be judged, should they always have true good-will in their hearts. When Safirans speak with her, she listens to hear, and not to respond. On matters of great importance, it's not uncommon for her to disappear into her chambers for days to think over the problem. This has made her popular amongst the people, although some critics claim it's simply Lake's public face, and her true nature is veiled by religious propaganda.
