Hypnotic Poco Hunt
Sienna frowned as she began to enter the marsh.
She had been studying Poco for a short while on her journeys, but this would be the first time she had set out to tame one, rather than just observe and document their behavior. It was a step she had always wanted to take with her studies, but the first attempt would definitely be nerve-wracking no matter what.
She had chosen to seek out a hypnotic Poco first because it seemed like one of the easier ones to tame, from what she’d learned before. The hypnotic subtype of Poco, she’d written earlier, tend to be more docile than other Poco, since they seem relaxed instead of easily excitable. She’d seen some fall asleep easily even while she was very close nearby or within eyesight of them - which meant that if she found a particularly sleepy one, she may even just get it to float right into her net and take it home with no fuss.
She winced as she stepped in a small puddle of marshwater. It definitely wasn’t the first place she wanted to be in right now - but her stubbornness won out, and she couldn’t turn back now. She just clenched her net tighter in her grip as she trudged on, trying to brute-force ignore how the damp marsh water felt on her fur or paws.
Eventually, she saw it, floating just beyond the branches above - her target!
She quietly tiptoed over beneath where the hypnotic Poco was lazily floating, positioning herself beneath its trajectory. If she could just stay still and silent, perhaps it would even just lower itself into her net—
Which was exactly what it did. She frowned a little. Was it snoring…? No matter - obtaining her first tamed Poco was the quickest way towards being able to study them within her own home.
She gently picked the poco up from the net, and ushered it into a small terrarium she had brought with for the mission, ensuring it was closed, but that the airholes were still functioning. The poco made a lazy sound as it turned over inside of the cage, and Sienna simply watched, fascinated with the display.
Perhaps getting a more active Poco would be a good idea - perhaps she could lure her next one in with some food, or a treat? These thoughts swirled through her head as she took her new catch home, ready to study how it interacted within a domesticated habitat.
