Farport

Farport is an outpost along the far northwestern gulf of the Northern Island. Its secluded nature and harsh winters have made the outpost’s population small, composed mostly of lone Northerners in desperate search of a job or solitude. The few residents who have family often live in separate regions, their kin building homes in the more hospitable south while Farport resident mails their earnings down to support them.

During the warmer summer, when the air hangs at a tolerable temperature (assuming you’re bundled up well) Farport is a fishing town. The chilled waters make the waters dangerous to anyone who doesn't have artic adaptations, making boats necessary and plentiful.

When the days grow shorter and the nights even colder, the waters oftentimes become too treacherous to travel, and the townsfolk fall back on mining. Although resources aren’t as plentiful as in other regions, the salt, limestone, quartz, and granite are plentiful enough to support the town as wintertime exports.
