Unfortunate Phosphor

Lacor hadn't been told not to explicitly, in fact, all he got in response to his desire to hunt down the phosphor eels was a simple scoff and nothing more. He was sure that his friend was just jealous about the cool new friend that he was about to get. Of course he didn't go alone, his poco Ranch wasn't exactly going to be able to protect him should a phosphor eel drop down on him at maximum speed. However, it would be good to have someone there anyways! It was dangerous, but what's an adventure without a bit of danger?

The walk had been loud, very loud in fact. It had been loud already from a distance, but as he got closer and closer to where he was planning to find the eels, it had only gotten louder. It was almost painful. Thankfully Lacor wasn't in too much pain, the sounds being too far up in the sky for them to actually cause much damage to him down on the ground. The noises eventually became monotonous, the loud booming noises becoming part of the background as he continued to walk, which ended up being helpful as he suddenly heard something different- a whistle. Not a regular kind of whistle that came from an animal, but the kind that one would hear when something falls out of the sky very quickly, exactly the kind of whistle that Lacor had been searching for.

The aqualox hopped into the water, looking up at the sky in search of the falling phosphor eel he was hearing, and it wasn't too difficult to see them, against the colors of the night sky, a small black shadow was plummeting fast. Lacor continued to move around the water, readjusting every time he saw the phosphor eel  move even just a little bit. If the eel hit the water fully, he was never going to see them again, that he was sure of. Thankfully, or perhaps unfortunately, when the eel breached the water's surface, Lacor was clinging on behind, being pulled into the water with a big smile on his face. The eel, clearly confused on the sudden amount of weight connected to them, looked back at the yellow creature and attempted to snap their jaw at him. Lacor made a small noise of panic, moving both his paws to keep the eel's mouth shut after getting a mouth full of water.

As much as the eel wanted to leave, they couldn't open their jaw, forced to watch as the aqualox smiled once again, moving higher to the surface and beginning to talk to himself. "Oh, how fun! I actually did it! Oh, everyone's going to be so jealous when I get back!" He then turned. "But, first I should get to know your name! I need to know what to call my friend now, don't I?" The phosphor eel made a small grumbling noise, seeming to go limp at the words. They knew at this point that they were stuck here, at least this would be a good break after exploding up in the sky.
