Slash and Burn | Under Control

The orange and yellow wings flapped around aggressively, the swallow struggling against their natural prison. However, despite their best efforts, they were unable to break free. Not even their fire could help them- what was this aqualox made of to be able to hold them in such a way? While the bird's mind may have been flooding with confusion at their situation, Rorqual was carefully holding onto them while he went through the fields, kicking dirt onto the remaining bits of fire that was left behind. Most of the flames had been taken care of by other Aqualoxes, making it a point to shoo away the invading birds and douse their flames before too much of the field could be destroyed. It was just up to Rorqual to take care of the remaining flames. 

"You know, if you were hungry, you could have asked someone properly. I know you're considered a pest by most, but some loxes would be kind enough to share if you asked." Rorqual explained to the firestarter swallow. The beast didn't seem to respond, only struggling a little bit more in the aqualox's grasp. "I know, it's hard to listen to someone who's holding you so tightly, but I need to make sure that you don't run off and hurt someone again. When I'm done, I'll get you a nice loaf of bread- much better than the wheat you were gobbling up, I'm sure!" The promise of food made them perk up, definitely paying attention now with the idea of being fed. Sure, they had eaten a good bit of food from the fields, but they certainly wouldn't mind more.

Once Rorqual was done cleaning up the last bits of fire, he made good on his promise. It was supposed to be his reward for helping out the farmer with pest control, but he certainly didn't mind sharing. The swallow made a happy little noise as they grabbed the piece of bread that was offered to them. This aqualox was nice, much nicer than any of the other creatures that the firestarter had met... maybe he could stick around with him. 

It'd be a much better life in comparison to being hunted down every time he tried to get something to eat.
